The Thousand Year WarThe winter sun rises,
Dyes the clouds blood red,
And shines its bright light
On the corpses of the dead.

The battle may be over,
But neither side has won;
Nor can they remember
Why the fighting had begun.

The war has had years
To spread the misery and pain,
And with old leaders dead and gone,
There's nobody to blame.

Why could they not
Forgive and forget,
Erase old splits
And lessen regret?

While one may wonder,
None will ever know,
For those old kings and queens
Died a thousand years ago.
